facilities & services

We have a full range of facilities and services to ensure we provide a quality standard of care for all our residents at Elton Lodge. The home is provides both social and nursing care for up to 21 residents. We are also registered to take up to six residents with physical disabilities from the ages of 50-65yrs, and elderly residents from 65yrs and over. The home has two lounges and a dining area to help cater for individual choice, conversation, TV viewing or listening to the radio or music. Elton Lodge is a non-smoking home, but there is provision to smoke outdoors if desired.

  • Chiropodists visit the home every six weeks.
  • Dentists visit on request.
  • The hair dresser visits every alternate Tuesday.
  • Physiotherapists and occupational therapists are available subject to a doctor's referral or on a private basis.
  • Newspapers and magazines are delivered by local news agents.
  • Chemist items can be ordered and delivered on an account basis from the local chemist.
  • Residents have their own telephones installed in their rooms at their own cost.
  • Residents can speak to their relatives and friends on their home telephone or by using the pay phone in the front hallway
  • Elton Lodge has a small shop atocking a limited range of toiletries etc.
  • A range of activities are provided throughout the week for residents to particpate in. (This weeks activities are shown on the right of this page)

homeliness of accomodation

The fabric and fittings of the home are designed to reflect a comfortable homely environment. Residents are encouraged to bring in their own personal belongings to make their room as personal and homely as possible. Everyday all of our members of staff ensure a clean, well kept and safe environment is maintained.

named key worker

Each resident is assigned a key worker who will develop a close relationship with the resident. The key worker is also responsible for ensuring that any aids are maintained in a fault free, working condition; ensure that clothes are kept tidy (with residents permission); ensure that resident's shopping needs are met; arrange outings on a one-to-one basis and help arrange appointements in the community and much more. Overall the key worker ensures that the resident's needs are being met and the resident is happy and comfortable.

meals

All of our food is locally sourced from butchers, green grocers and the local dairy. Resident's tastes vary from one individual to another and based on dietary, cultural or religious backgrounds. At Elton Lodge we understand this and make allowances for resident's diet:
  • Breakfast (7:00am – 10:00am)
    We endeavour to provide any choice of breakfast that our residents request
  • Morning coffee (10:00am)
    Snacks are avilable.
  • Lunch (12:00am)
    There is always a main choice, but alternatives are available on request.
  • Afternoon tea (2:30pm)
    Snacks are available
  • Supper (5:00pm)
    There is always a main choice and alternatives are available on request

Night drinks are availble throughout the evning and night. Hot and cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches are always available on request. Special diets are catered for and nutiritional supplements are available. Each day resident's are asked what they would like for lunch and supper. Likes and dislikes are taken in to account at all times.

Garden

The attractive garden is well tended with an outside seating area. This makes it ideal for entertaining visitors in summer months. Residents who have an interested in gardening are welcome to help tend and maintain its appearance.

visiting times

Friends and family are encouraged to take an active role in the home by visiting residents and participating in any activities taking place in the home. Visiting times are 10:00am – 8:00pm. Anyone wishing to visit before or after visiting times may do so, as long as the home is made aware so provisions can be made for this. All visitors are asked to sign a visitors book found in the front lobby for security and fire safety reasons. Families and friends are encouraged to take residents on outings whenever possible – wheelchairs are available on request.

Manicures and Treats for Feet with Jane.
Jane massages hands and fet, paints nails and spends time individually with each resident making them feel pampered and relaxed.
It can be arranged if a resident would like Jane to visit independantly on a regular basis.

One to One time with Rani Saimbi
Private time with Rani the Registered Provider for Elton Lodge to have a chat,or discuss any needs, personal shopping etc.
Summer months go for a walk to the seafront or Park have a hot drink or ice cream and Time Out as a group or one to one.
Hairdresser and Chiropodist also on Wednesdays.
